What is your name and where are you from?
My name is Jon and I live in Ottawa, Canada.
What is your job title and what do you do?
I am the Operations Director for North America. I support the North American customers with onboarding, service scoping and delivery and finding additional ways to add value by reimagining workflows and processes. I work closely with members of the delivery and sales teams at risr/ to make sure our partners are supported. Days to day I could be involved in anything from product evolution discussions, UAT, sales or even live exam delivery.
How long have you been with risr/ and what is the best thing about working here?
I am fairly new to the company I started in March but I have been in the exam/testing and psychometrics industry for 16 years. Completing an MBA during a vid spurred an interest to focus in a different area. Working at risr/ has provided me with the opportunity to focus on helping build and grow a testing organisation instead of focusing on the actual tests and working within a flat organisational structure allows me to move and adapt as quickly as the needs of our customers can change.
What is your favourite quote?
My favourite quote is by Rahm Emanuel: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.” Change is one of the only constants in life and being able to think about why things are the way they are and see alternatives is an essential skill today and for the future.
